Some good costumes turned out for the 2014 Festelavn run, especially Ball Breaker (witch), Viking Puker (Invisible Man) 2.8 Seconds (Easter Bunny) Beer Barbir (Tiger) and OND (Penguin?)â?¦. There were others, but memory fades with age! There was also someone doing a good imitation of that well known Ã?H3 member, â??Hitmanâ?. He even looked and sounded like the real thing â?? a remarkable outfit â?º
The Hares (2.8 Seconds, Butt Lips and Sweaty Balls) laid a good, short and easy city centre run that included a new (to me anyway) markingâ?¦ a Prick Stopâ?¦. A good job it didnâ??t entail anyone getting theirs out, because it was a cold afternoon and my guess is that all the male hashers would have struggled to find anything to expose! We were also treated to 3 drink stops including a sausage stop at Dog Surferâ??s hot dog van. The pack provided plenty of entertainment for Saturday afternoon shoppers in Bruuns Gallery and on a roundabout, where the distraction of about 20 costumed fools singing and cavorting led to one car racing around and around to watch until some other road user got in his way â?¦. Well, thereâ??s always someone prepared to spoil our entertainment!
OND officiated as MC and showed no favouritism in dispensing justice to the motley circle of sinners, including himself, when he fell foul of the â??Tâ? word on about 7 occasions. Incredibly this was my first ever Festelavn experience after all these years in Denmark and before I even got a chance to take a hit at the barrel, OND fuelled by more Down Downs than he can probably remember, managed to break the whacking stick and we were left with nothing but a handle!! Nevertheless, the Hash so used to emptying barrels of beer, was undeterred in its efforts and eventually the â??catâ?? was freed and we could all retire to Sweatyâ??s apartment for festelavn boller andâ?¦.. beer. A good afternnonâ?¦. As alwaysâ?¦. Thanks to the Hares!
